"Goldfinger", Japanese James Bond Movie Poster, Original Re-Release 1971, B2 Size (51 x 73cm) H86 A

Sale price $375.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster issued in Japan for the 1971 theatrical re-release of Goldfinger (1964), Guy Hamilton’s third James Bond film—starring Sean Connery as 007, alongside Honor Blackman as Pussy Galore, Gert Fröbe as Auric Goldfinger, and Shirley Eaton in one of the most iconic images of the entire franchise. Widely regarded as the film that crystallised the Bond formula into pure cultural myth—spectacle, style, villainy, and wit—Goldfinger remains one of the most beloved and collectible titles in the series.

Poster design
A superb graphic-design Japanese variant that leans into pop modernism rather than montage chaos—making it exceptionally displayable. The entire background is a repeating typographic field spelling GOLDFINGER in bold, cool blue, creating a hypnotic pattern like a designer wallpaper. Against this, a dramatic black shadow carries the floating silhouette of a gold-toned nude figure, a direct visual nod to the film’s legendary imagery and its theme of lethal glamour. At centre, Connery’s portrait sits inside a vivid red-orange “gun-barrel” circle with bold brush-stroke accents—Walther raised, gaze locked—while a small Aston Martin vignette streaks across the composition for speed and danger. The title block at the bottom—“007 ゴールドフィンガー / ショーン・コネリー”—anchors the sheet in crisp Japanese one-sheet styling. The result is a rare Bond poster that reads as both cinema ephemera and mid-century graphic art.
