“Saturday Night Slam Masters” (aka Muscle Bomber: The Body Explosion), Original Release Japanese CAPCOM Promotional Poster 1993, Extremely Rare, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA112

Sale price $250.00

This is an original Japanese CAPCOM promotional poster printed in 1993 for Saturday Night Slam Masters, released in Japan as Muscle Bomber: The Body Explosion. Produced by Capcom during the height of the 1990s wrestling-game boom, it is one of the most visually explosive pieces of promotional art associated with the title, and a particularly desirable country-of-origin item for collectors of vintage Japanese video game material.

Background
Originally released in 1993, Muscle Bomber is Capcom’s larger-than-life arcade wrestling game, combining one-on-one and tag-team combat with a distinctly manga-inflected visual style and a cast of exaggerated international wrestlers and villains. In Japan, the game is closely associated with Capcom’s rich early-1990s arcade era, and promotional material for the title—especially posters tied to specific Japanese computer or console formats such as the FM TOWNS Marty—is far scarcer than standard game packaging or magazine advertising.

Why this example is special
Original 1993 Japanese promotional issue tied to Capcom’s release campaign.

Extremely rare surviving poster for a cult-favourite Capcom wrestling title.

Features the FM TOWNS Marty branding at upper right, making it especially appealing to collectors of Japanese gaming history and obscure platform material.

Poster design
This is a superb and exceptionally energetic design, dominated by a dense character collage in Capcom’s signature high-impact illustration style. The central confrontation between the blond and white-haired wrestlers gives the composition its immediate dramatic tension, while the masked central figure, roaring giant antagonist above, and packed surrounding cast create a sense of escalating tournament chaos. The fiery orange background intensifies the atmosphere, and the large Muscle Bomber logo anchors the sheet with tremendous visual force.

It is exactly the sort of poster that captures the appeal of early-1990s Japanese game promotion: bold, exaggerated, colourful, and unapologetically theatrical. For display, it has outstanding presence.
