"Delinquent Boss: Smooth Talking, Good Fighting", Original Release Japanese Speed Poster 1971, Speed Poster Size (c.26 cm × 75 cm) N46
This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1971 for the first release of Delinquent Boss: Smooth Talking, Good Fighting (不良番長 手八丁口八丁), part of Toei’s riot-ous biker–yakuza series starring Tatsuo Umemiya.
Film background
This instalment finds Jō (Umemiya) and his “Skull Flag” gang roaring into Shinjuku with slick patter and fast fists. Their scheme to hustle cash through black-market bike races and nightclub shakedowns runs afoul of a rival syndicate—and a crooked talent agent who lures the boys with dreams of pop-culture fame. Knife fights, strip-club showdowns, and mass motor-bike stampedes ensue, blending action, comedy, and 1970s pop style. The Delinquent Boss cycle (1968-72) epitomises Toei’s high-octane “bad-boy” formula that fed Japan’s drive-in circuit.
Poster design
Printed in the tall speed-poster format, this design features:
-
A full-throttle centrepiece of Jō astride a chopper, half-nude moll clinging to his back—chrome headlamp dominating the frame.
Speed posters were produced in far smaller quantities than standard B2s, pasted to narrow street columns; surviving examples for core biker titles are therefore exceptionally scarce.
This poster is in excellent condition.
