"Morituri", Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1965, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O326

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1965 for Bernhard Wicki’s WWII sabotage thriller Morituri, starring Marlon Brando and Yul Brynner. Brando plays a German anti-Nazi coerced into infiltrating a blockade-running freighter; Brynner is the hard-edged captain. The film’s tense, near-real-time cat-and-mouse at sea and Conrad-like moral undertow made it one of the more cerebral action entries of the mid-1960s.

Design
A dramatic photomontage keyed to fire and steel: Brando’s wary profile dominates the foreground, while Brynner—radio in hand—stands against a backdrop of flaming tanker explosions. Barbed-wire tracers slash the lower field; a yellow diagonal slug (南太平洋爆破作戦) trumpets the South Pacific demolition mission. The huge scarlet kana title 「モリツリ」 crowns the sheet, with the 20th Century-Fox mark and credit block anchoring the base.
