The Ghost Story of Kasane Swamp (Japanese title: 怪談累が淵, Kaidan Kasane-ga-Fuchi) is a 1960 Japanese period horror film directed by Kimiyoshi Yasuda and produced by Daiei Film. Based on a famous Edo-period ghost tale, the story follows the tragic and vengeful spirit of Kasane, a disfigured woman betrayed and murdered by those closest to her. As her curse takes root, a cycle of supernatural revenge unfolds across generations.

This film is a remake of the 1957 classic by Nobuo Nakagawa, and director Kimiyoshi Yasuda brings a striking visual style and heightened drama to the adaptation. Combining eerie traditional ghost motifs with Daiei’s signature period atmosphere, this version is renowned for its haunting beauty and emotional depth.
