"Porco Rosso (Kurenai no Buta)" (紅の豚), Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1992, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O386

Sale price $300.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1992 for Hayao Miyazaki’s Studio Ghibli classic Porco Rosso (Kurenai no Buta). Set over the Adriatic in the 1920s, the film follows the gentleman-rogue ace Porco—a cursed pilot with a pig’s face—through sky-pirate skirmishes, café romances, and elegiac reflections on flight and freedom.

Design
The quintessential theatrical key art: Porco lounges in the open cockpit of his scarlet Savoia S.21, hat brim low and goggles glinting, while Gina gazes on from behind. Below, the seaplane slices through a burnished cloud-sea at golden hour. The bold red brush title 「紅の豚」 anchors the right edge—pure Ghibli glamour with aviation nostalgia.

Authenticity
Important note: modern official reproductions of this design are widely available (often sold inexpensively in Ghibli/character shops). The example offered here is 100% an original theatrical printing from the 1992 first-release campaign (correct credits/paper stock/printer marks)—not a later shop reprint—so you can buy with confidence.

Condition
Excellent: crisp surface, rich colour, and only the lightest trace touches expected from gentle handling; no distracting flaws. Please review the photos—they show the exact item for sale.
