                  “Onibaba” (鬼婆), Original Japanese First-Release Mini-Poster / Pamphlet 1964, Fold-Out Size c. 18 × 50 cm O452
This is an original Japanese fold-out mini-poster / program pamphlet printed in 1964 for the first theatrical release of Onibaba, Kaneto Shindō’s haunting jidai-gekij horror starring Nobuko Otowa and Jitsuko Yoshimura. Distributed to cinemas in a slim, foldable format, it functions as both an advance handout and a compact lobby display.
Design
Sepia-toned, photo-montage austerity: moonlit reeds rage across the horizontal field as fleeing figures slash through the grass; the huge brushed kanji title 「鬼婆」 sits like a scar across the center. The right panel carries production notes in vertical columns beside a portrait of Shindō and a stark circular “mask-hole” vignette—minimal, literary and chilling.
