"Ebirah, Horror of the Deep", Original Re-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1971, STB Tatekan Size (51 x 145cm) C77

Sale price $1,200.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1971 for the re-release of "Ebirah, Horror of the Deep."

This film marks the 7th entry in the Godzilla franchise and was directed by Jun Fukuda, with special effects by Eiji Tsuburaya. The story sends Godzilla to a remote South Pacific island to battle the giant lobster Ebirah, while fan-favourite Mothra appears in a supporting role. The plot mixes kaiju combat with Cold War intrigue, as survivors of a shipwreck discover a terrorist base and must summon the monsters to save themselves.

The STB poster format (roughly 145 × 51 cm) was used primarily for theater-front displays in Japan and was printed in very limited quantities. This design features stunning vertical action layout artwork—Godzilla unleashing his atomic breath while Mothra soars above and Ebirah claws through the center, surrounded by volcanic explosions and oceanic fury.

This poster is in excellent condition, and remains unbacked and complete, with deep colours and vibrant period print. We acquired a set of Godzilla posters from the daughter of someone that used to have a second hand bookstore in Japan!
