This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1985 for the theatrical re-release of Gamera vs. Gyaos – Kaiju Daishūgō.
Gamera vs. Gyaos (Japanese: ガメラ対大怪鳥ギャオス, Gamera tai Daikaijū Gyaosu) is a classic 1967 Japanese kaiju film directed by Noriaki Yuasa and produced by Daiei Film. It is the third entry in the original Gamera series and introduces one of Gamera’s most iconic and recurring foes — Gyaos, a bat-like monster with supersonic cutting beams and an insatiable hunger for human flesh.
This particular poster was produced for the 1985 re-release, promoted as part of the "Kaiju Daishūgō" (Monster All-Out Attack) campaign, celebrating classic monster battles on the big screen during the kaiju revival boom of the 1980s.
The film remains a fan favorite for its memorable monster design, wild special effects, and its central theme of Gamera as the protector of children — a key motif that would define the franchise for decades to come.
