“Kiki’s Delivery Service” (魔女の宅急便), Original Japanese DVD Promotional Poster 2001, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA749
This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster produced in Japan in 2001 for the Studio Ghibli DVD Video release of Kiki’s Delivery Service (魔女の宅急便, 1989), Hayao Miyazaki’s timeless coming-of-age classic. The poster promotes the “ジブリがいっぱい COLLECTION” line and advertises the new DVD edition, while also cross-promoting Spirited Away (千と千尋の神隠し) as Miyazaki’s then-latest theatrical feature—making this a fantastic snapshot of early-2000s Ghibli home-video culture.
Poster design
A beautiful, high-impact layout that pairs a serene, sky-blue typographic header with one of the film’s most beloved visuals: Kiki and Jiji riding the broom over the sparkling coastal city. The top text reads 「魔女の宅急便」 with the release line 「6月8日、DVD2枚組(本編ディスク/特典ディスク)で新発売!!」, clearly marking it as a DVD campaign piece. The bottom band adds major collector interest: it promotes “千と千尋の神隠し” with a “2001年7月 全国東宝洋画系ロードショー” line, tying the poster directly to the moment Spirited Away was rolling out theatrically. Clean, colourful, and extremely frame-friendly—an ideal display piece for Ghibli collectors, especially those who love Kiki and early DVD-era ephemera.
