"Godzilla vs. Monster Army" (ゴジラVS怪獣軍団), Original Japanese Promotional Poster, 1984
Toho Studios | B2 Size

This vibrant and visually explosive Japanese B2 poster was released in 1984 to promote Godzilla’s return to the big screen, coinciding with the release of the Heisei-era reboot The Return of Godzilla (ゴジラ, 1984). However, this specific poster is not for a single film—it’s a celebration of Godzilla’s legacy in the Showa era, a visual collage of kaiju chaos spanning the 1960s and '70s.

The poster is boldly titled “Godzilla vs. the Monster Army” (ゴジラVS怪獣軍団), with the tagline “決戦!” (kessen! – Decisive Battle!). It features dramatic stills of Godzilla battling many of his most famous adversaries: Mechagodzilla, King Ghidorah, Gigan, Anguirus, Ebirah, Kumonga, Gabara, Hedorah, and even King Kong, among others.

Notably, the bottom corner includes a list of monsters in Japanese katakana, confirming Godzilla’s opponents in this commemorative collage.

Printed in bright, saturated colour and clearly designed to appeal to children and fans of tokusatsu and kaiju eiga, this poster would likely have been displayed in toy stores or cinema lobbies to promote both the new film and the legacy monster merchandise.

A rare and highly desirable piece for collectors of Godzilla memorabilia, particularly those drawn to the Showa-era aesthetic.

This poster is in excellent condition. Please refer to the imagery (both front and back) as this is the exact poster that is for sale.
