"From Russia with Love" (007 危機一発), Original First-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1964, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) N10

Sale price $1,000.00

This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1964 for the first Japanese theatrical release of the second James Bond film, From Russia with Love, starring Sean Connery as 007.

Directed by Terence Young and based on the 1957 Ian Fleming novel, From Russia with Love sees British secret agent James Bond dispatched to Istanbul to retrieve a Soviet encryption device, only to be ensnared in a deadly game orchestrated by the secret criminal organisation SPECTRE. The film co-stars Daniela Bianchi, Pedro Armendáriz, and Lotte Lenya as the fearsome Rosa Klebb.

The Japanese title is 007 危機一発 (Zero Zero Seven: Kiki Ippatsu), meaning "007: Crisis Shot" or "Emergency Shot." This highly collectible poster features a creative visual split: Bond’s giant face and silencer are set within the carved-out numerals “007”, filled with stills from key action and seduction scenes, creating one of the most stylish Bond poster designs worldwide.

The Japanese release followed closely on the heels of the film's UK debut in 1963, with United Artists handling distribution in Japan. The tagline reads:

襲いくる罠…罠…全世界の暗殺者に挑む007必殺の消音銃!!
“Trap after trap… Bond’s silenced pistol challenges assassins across the world!!”
