“Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon & DX” (機動戦士ガンダム 連邦vs.ジオン&DX), Original Japanese Dreamcast Promotional Poster 2002, B2 Size (51.5 × 72.8 cm) — T226
This is an original Japanese B2 promotional poster produced for the 2002 Dreamcast release of Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon & DX, published by Bandai and developed by Capcom. Featuring magnificent artwork by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, it brings together the characters and mobile suits of the original Mobile Suit Gundam in a richly coloured, action-filled composition.
The game brought Federation vs. Zeon and its expanded DX version to Dreamcast as a two-disc package. The poster proudly announces the 11 April release date, with gameplay screenshots and promotional text along the bottom highlighting the inclusion of both arcade titles. It is an appealing crossover between classic Gundam imagery and Sega’s final home console.
The illustration is the outstanding feature. A towering RX-78 Gundam dominates the centre, surrounded by a dramatic arrangement of pilots and opposing mobile suits. Char Aznable appears at the upper left in his distinctive red uniform and helmet, balanced by Sayla Mass at the upper right, while Amuro Ray grips his cockpit controls below. A pink beam saber cuts diagonally through the composition, adding movement against the deep green, star-filled background.
Yasuhiko’s expressive faces and softly modelled colours give the artwork a warmth and depth that distinguish it from flatter animation-style promotional designs. The illustration rewards close inspection, while the central Gundam gives the poster an immediate presence from across a room. The printed “Illustrated by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko” credit and “’01 YAS” signature identify the artist and date the artwork to the year before the game’s release.
The bold Japanese game logo anchors the lower portion, with the orange Dreamcast emblem at the upper right completing a particularly attractive piece for collectors of Gundam, Japanese illustration and vintage videogame advertising.
