Sale price $110.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 2000 for the first release of Crayon Shin-chan: Storming Jungle / 「映画クレヨンしんちゃん 嵐を呼ぶジャングル」, the eighth feature film in the enormously popular Crayon Shin-chan anime franchise.

A particularly strong entry in the series, Storming Jungle combines Shin-chan’s trademark absurd humour with a genuine adventure structure, sending Shinnosuke, Himawari, and the Kasukabe Defence Force into a dangerous island jungle after the adults are kidnapped by a mysterious army of monkeys.

Film background
Released in Japan in 2000, Crayon Shin-chan: Storming Jungle was directed and written by Keiichi Hara, based on the manga by Yoshito Usui.

The story begins during a luxury cruise trip organised around the premiere of an Action Kamen movie. The holiday turns chaotic when a group of wild monkeys storms the ship and kidnaps all the adults. With the grown-ups taken away, Shinnosuke Nohara, his baby sister Himawari, and his friends must venture deep into the jungle to rescue them.

The principal voice cast includes Akiko Yajima as Shinnosuke, Satomi Koorogi as Himawari, Miki Narahashi as Misae, Keiji Fujiwara as Hiroshi, and Tesshō Genda as Action Kamen.

The film is fondly remembered as one of the stronger theatrical Shin-chan entries, balancing comedy, action, family adventure, and a memorable jungle setting. Director Keiichi Hara would later become internationally recognised for works such as Summer Days with Coo and Miss Hokusai.

Poster design
This poster is a particularly atmospheric and effective Shin-chan design. Instead of relying on a crowded ensemble layout, it focuses on a dramatic jungle survival image: a dirtied and determined Shin-chan carries Himawari on his back, moving cautiously through dense tropical foliage.

Above them, the dark jungle canopy is filled with countless glowing monkey eyes, immediately suggesting danger, pursuit, and the film’s wild adventure premise. The background is richer and moodier than many Shin-chan poster designs, while the foreground retains the bright, playful character style that defines the franchise.

The large yellow headline at the top reads:

「野生のおバカが目をさます!」
“The wild fool awakens!”

The red copy running through the vines on the left warns of the film’s central threat: the southern island jungle, the mysterious monkey army, and the disappearance of the adults.

At the bottom, the title 「映画クレヨンしんちゃん 嵐を呼ぶジャングル」 appears in bold, colourful lettering, with the cast and production credits printed beneath. The design successfully combines family animation, jungle adventure, comic danger, and Shin-chan’s irreverent personality in a single highly displayable image.
