“Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo” / 「ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:Q」, Original First Release Japanese Movie Poster 2012, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA879

Sale price $175.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 2012 for the first release of Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo / 「ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:Q」, the third film in Hideaki Anno’s celebrated Rebuild of Evangelion series.

A beautifully restrained and highly atmospheric Evangelion poster, this design features Shinji Ikari and Kaworu Nagisa seated back-to-back beneath a vast star-filled sky. It is one of the most elegant campaign images associated with the film, and a strong piece for collectors of modern Japanese animation and Studio Khara material.

Film background
Released in Japan on November 17, 2012, Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo marked a major turning point in the Rebuild continuity. Departing sharply from both the original television series and the first two Rebuild films, the story takes place 14 years after the events of the previous instalment.

Shinji awakens into a world that has changed beyond recognition. His former allies now treat him with suspicion and hostility, while his relationship with the enigmatic Kaworu Nagisa becomes one of the film’s emotional centres. The film was produced by Studio Khara, with Hideaki Anno as chief director and creator, and direction by Kazuya Tsurumaki, Masayuki, and Mahiro Maeda.

Poster design
The poster is dominated by a deep, almost cosmic night sky, filled with stars and a faint galactic haze. At the lower centre, Shinji and Kaworu sit back-to-back on ruined stonework, sharing a single pair of earphones connected to Shinji’s portable audio player. The image is quiet, intimate, and emotionally suspended, contrasting strongly with the apocalyptic scale of the film itself.

The vertical blue title text reads:

「ヱヴァンゲリヲン新劇場版:Q」

At the bottom, the English title appears as:

EVANGELION: 3.0
YOU CAN (NOT) REDO.

Beneath this, the poster announces the Japanese theatrical release date:

「西暦2012年11月17日公開」
“Opening November 17, 2012.”

The artwork’s minimal composition, negative space, and subdued palette give it a particularly refined display quality.
