"Harmagedon: Genma Wars", Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1983, B2 Size (51 x 73cm) P28
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1983 for the release of Genma Taisen (幻魔大戦), also known as Harmagedon—a major early-’80s anime event title produced during the boom era of big-budget animated features.
Based on the manga by Kazumasa Hirai and Shotaro Ishinomori, the film was directed by Rintaro and produced by Haruki Kadokawa, with character designs by Katsuhiro Otomo (later world-famous for Akira). The voice cast includes Toru Furuya and Mami Koyama.
Poster design
A spectacular, apocalyptic design that perfectly captures the film’s scale: a lone protagonist stands before a wall of flame and demonic, otherworldly forms, with the Earth floating behind—pure “cosmic catastrophe” imagery. The vertical title reads 幻魔大戦 (Genma Taisen / Harmagedon).
