“Latitude Zero” (緯度0大作戦), Original Japanese Movie Poster 1969, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P49

Sale price $375.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster for Latitude Zero (緯度0大作戦), Toho’s lavish late-’60s sci-fi adventure—an ambitious international co-production that blends deep-sea fantasy, Cold War-era spectacle, and classic tokusatsu imagination. The film was released in Japan by Toho on 26 July 1969.

A true period piece of Japanese genre cinema at its most optimistic: a vision of a hidden, ultra-advanced world beneath the ocean, rendered with the kind of scale and theatrical showmanship that defined Toho’s golden age of effects-driven filmmaking.

Poster design
A superb example of late-1960s Japanese sci-fi poster craft: the bold, multi-colour “ZERO” title typography dominates the top, while the imagery erupts with kinetic set-pieces—submersibles, underwater peril, and widescreen action montage—composed to promise maximum spectacle at a glance. The overall effect is pure Showa-era sci-fi bravura, designed to stop passers-by in the street.

Presented in excellent, close-to-near-mint condition, with strong colour and very clean display presence.
