“Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Another Cases” / 「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン2 造られしセカイ -another cases-」, Original Japanese Video Game Promotional Poster 2006 — Illustrated by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto — PSP, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) L274
This is an original Japanese B2 video game promotional poster produced for the 27 April 2006 Japanese release of Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Tsukurareshi Sekai – Another Cases for PlayStation Portable.
Featuring artwork by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, Evangelion’s original character designer and the artist behind its manga adaptation, the poster brings together Shinji Ikari, Asuka Langley Soryu and Rei Ayanami beneath their towering Evangelion units.
The illustration credit is explicitly printed along the bottom edge:
「イラスト:貞本義行」
“Illustration: Yoshiyuki Sadamoto.”
This attribution makes the poster particularly appealing as an example of Sadamoto’s artwork created for Evangelion’s expansion into video games.
Game background
Developed by Alfa System, this PSP title is an expanded adaptation of the 2003 PlayStation 2 game Neon Genesis Evangelion 2.
Described on the poster as a “world simulator,” the game combines character interaction, everyday activities and battles within the Evangelion setting. Its approach allows players to explore different situations and relationships, extending beyond a straightforward retelling of the television series.
The PSP edition introduced additional scenarios and events, offering further ways to experience the world of NERV and its inhabitants.
Its release also formed part of Evangelion’s tenth-anniversary period. The poster advertises the accompanying “NEON GENESIS EVANGELION – DECADE – Memorial BOX,” which combined the game with two UMD Video discs.
Poster design
Sadamoto’s illustration fills almost the entire sheet, arranging the three principal pilots beneath close-up views of their corresponding Evangelion units.
Shinji Ikari occupies the foreground in his pale plugsuit, facing directly towards the viewer with a serious expression. Asuka, wearing red, appears at left, while Rei, in white, stands slightly behind him at right.
Above them, the mechanical heads form a second, larger grouping: red Unit-02, purple Unit-01 and blue Unit-00. Their overlapping armour and sharply angled profiles create a dense composition that connects each pilot with their machine.
The contrasting red, purple and blue colours give the artwork immediate impact, while the dark background emphasises the characters’ faces and the Evangelions’ distinctive silhouettes.
The large vertical slogan at left reads:
「エヴァンゲリオン、完全再誕。」
“Evangelion, completely reborn.”
At upper right, a second line develops the game’s emphasis on individual experiences:
「誰もが持っている『自分だけのセカイ』がここにある。」
“The ‘world of your own’ that everyone carries within them is here.”
The Japanese game logo stretches across the lower centre in yellow-to-red lettering, with 「造られしセカイ -another cases-」 beneath it.
The release announcement reads:
「4月27日発売!!」
“On sale 27 April!!”
Three small gameplay images appear at lower right, introducing the game’s dialogue and interface. The PlayStation and PSP logos occupy the upper corners, while Bandai, Bandai Namco Games and the tenth-anniversary emblem appear in the lower promotional section.
Collecting significance
This poster brings together Sadamoto’s character artwork, the original television-series Evangelion designs and the PSP era of Japanese gaming.
The dated release announcement, gameplay screenshots, pricing and Memorial BOX promotion preserve the specific retail campaign for the 2006 game. These details make it an attractive example for collectors of Evangelion, Yoshiyuki Sadamoto, PlayStation promotional material and Japanese video game advertising.
