Osamu Tezuka (1928–1989), often called the “God of Manga,” revolutionized Japanese comics and animation, creating enduring classics such as Astro Boy (鉄腕アトム), Kimba the White Lion (ジャングル大帝), Phoenix (火の鳥), and Black Jack.
