This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1992 for the re-release of Blade Runner: The Director’s Cut, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Harrison Ford, Sean Young, and Rutger Hauer. Issued to promote the long-awaited re-release, this version restored Scott’s vision, removing the studio-imposed voiceover and ending, while including the unicorn dream sequence that would later become central to debates about Deckard’s identity.

Very rare small print number re-release with the iconic art work by JOHN ALVIN.

Condition note
This poster was originally displayed at a tobacconist in the 1990s, where showing times and ticket prices were taped to the lower margin. As a result, there are some light tape marks visible. These have been taken into account in the pricing. Once framed, the poster will display excellently.

Film background
Blade Runner (1982) has become one of the most influential science fiction films in cinema history, blending film noir style with futuristic dystopia. Loosely based on Philip K. Dick’s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the film presents a haunting vision of 21st-century Los Angeles where replicants — bioengineered beings — struggle with mortality and identity. Though divisive on its original release, by the 1990s the film had achieved cult status, and The Director’s Cut solidified its reputation as a landmark of science fiction and visual design.

Poster design
The 1992 Japanese re-release poster features striking painted artwork of Harrison Ford as Rick Deckard, alongside Sean Young as Rachael, framed against the neon-soaked futurism of Los Angeles. The flying “Spinner” cars and angular architecture evoke the dark, rain-drenched atmosphere that defined the film’s aesthetic. Bold Japanese typography emphasizes this “final cut” release, making the design especially collectible for Blade Runner enthusiasts.
