Sale price $500.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1973 for the first theatrical release of Godzilla vs. Megalon by Toho Studios. Posters from this entry in the Godzilla franchise are especially desirable, with the film’s camp appeal and the debut of fan-favorite robot Jet Jaguar making it a cult classic among kaiju enthusiasts.

Film background
Godzilla vs. Megalon (ゴジラ対メガロ, Gojira tai Megaro) is the 13th film in Toho’s long-running series, directed by Jun Fukuda. Released during the early 1970s kaiju boom, the film pits Godzilla against the monstrous beetle-like Megalon, unleashed by the undersea kingdom of Seatopia. Godzilla receives aid from the newly introduced Jet Jaguar, a size-changing robot created by a scientist, as they battle both Megalon and returning foe Gigan. While modest in production scale, the film became a cult hit, especially abroad, where it was one of the most widely distributed Godzilla titles of the era.

Poster design
The poster artwork captures the wild, colorful energy of the film. Godzilla takes center stage, blasting his atomic breath at Megalon, while Jet Jaguar soars into the fray and Gigan attacks from the side. The psychedelic rainbow-hued background intensifies the sense of spectacle, reflecting the playful yet action-packed spirit of the film. With bold typography and character callouts in Japanese, the design embodies Toho’s 1970s poster aesthetic.
