“Die Another Day” (ダイ・アナザー・デイ), Original Japanese Double-Sided Light-Box Cinema Poster 2002, B1 Size (c. 73 × 103 cm) IA17
This is an original Japanese B1 double-sided theatrical display poster printed in 2002 for the Japanese release of Die Another Day, the twentieth official James Bond film and the final Bond appearance of Pierce Brosnan. Directed by Lee Tamahori, the film stars Pierce Brosnan, Halle Berry, Rosamund Pike, Rick Yune, Toby Stephens, and Judi Dench.
Unlike the standard single-sided B2 posters more commonly encountered, this is a large-format double-sided cinema display sheet, produced for use in a backlit light box or illuminated theatrical display. Posters of this type were made in smaller numbers for in-cinema advertising and were not ordinary retail items, making them markedly scarcer today.
Film background
Released in 2002, Die Another Day marked the 40th anniversary of the James Bond series and was promoted as a major event entry in the franchise. The story follows Bond from imprisonment and betrayal into a globe-spanning conflict involving North Korea, diamond magnate Gustav Graves, the lethal Zao, and Halle Berry’s now-iconic NSA agent Jinx. For many collectors, it remains one of the key Bond titles of the early 2000s, not least because of its high-profile cast, sleek visual style, and franchise-anniversary status.
Poster design
This is a superb and highly unusual Japanese character-focused design, dominated by Halle Berry as Jinx in a bold, graphic montage rendered in acid green, black, and red. The composition is far more stylised than the standard international one-sheet, with multiple Jinx poses arranged around the title and a small figure of Bond integrated into the lower character strip. The result is sharp, modern, and unmistakably early-2000s in tone, while still feeling distinctly Japanese in its layout and visual restraint.
What makes this example especially desirable is its double-sided construction. These posters were intended for backlit cinema presentation, allowing the image to glow when illuminated. That format gives the sheet a very different physical presence from an ordinary poster and is exactly the kind of theatrical ephemera sought by collectors of Bond and cinema-display material.
Condition
Excellent. Please review the photos—they show the exact poster for sale. The poster presents very strongly overall, with rich colour, strong gloss, and excellent display appeal. The reverse shows the mirrored back-print expected of a genuine double-sided light-box sheet, and nothing detracts from the overall front presentation.
