"Fantastic Voyage" (ミクロの決死圏), Original First Release Japanese Movie Poster 1966, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) P16
This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster issued for the first release of Fantastic Voyage in Japan, Richard Fleischer’s landmark sci-fi adventure starring Stephen Boyd, Raquel Welch, Donald Pleasence, and Arthur Kennedy. A showcase of mid-’60s imaginative effects and Oscar-winning visuals, the film follows a miniaturized surgical team racing through the human body to save a dying scientist.
Design
A sensational montage of the film’s most iconic imagery: the Proteus submersible glides through a surreal vascular landscape while the wetsuited medical team drifts in formation. A giant stippled eye dominates the lower field—its iris becoming a stage for the crew—while the English logotype Fantastic voyage glows above. Vertical Japanese billing, CINEMASCOPE callouts, and the 20th Century-Fox mark complete a bold, color-saturated composition that captures the movie’s psychedelic–anatomical aesthetic.
