This is an original Japanese promotional poster printed in 2004 for the home-video release of Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: Vol. 2. Issued for the 8 October release through Universal Pictures Japan, it features an unusual pointed, triangular lower section, giving the sheet a distinctive silhouette within its approximately B3 dimensions.
Film background
Starring Uma Thurman as the Bride, Kill Bill: Vol. 2 concludes Tarantino’s revenge story, bringing her closer to the final confrontation with Bill, played by David Carradine. Drawing on martial-arts cinema, samurai films and spaghetti westerns, the film combines stylised violence with a more intimate exploration of the Bride’s past.
Poster design
A striking portrait of Uma Thurman wearing a bridal veil and gripping a katana above her head, with the blade descending vertically beside her face. Enormous yellow “KILL BILL” lettering fills the black background, while the oversized red “Vol. 2” adds a bold accent in the upper-right corner.
The Japanese title and “10/8 RELEASE” announcement occupy the tapering lower section, which ends in a downward point. A small image of the home-video packaging and the Japanese publisher credit complete the design. This unusual shape gives the familiar artwork a distinctive display presence—an appealing variation for collectors of Tarantino, Uma Thurman and Japanese promotional material.
