“Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Another Cases” / 「新世紀エヴァンゲリオン2 造られしセカイ -another cases-」, Original Japanese Video Game Promotional Poster 2006 — Illustrated by Junichi Nakamura — PSP, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O560

Sale price $175.00

This is an original Japanese B2 video game promotional poster produced for the 27 April 2006 Japanese release of Neon Genesis Evangelion 2: Tsukurareshi Sekai – Another Cases for PlayStation Portable.

Featuring artwork by Junichi Nakamura, this dramatic design concentrates on the Evangelion units themselves, placing an imposing, heavily armoured Unit-01 between oversized portraits of Unit-02 and Unit-00.

The illustration credit is explicitly printed along the bottom edge:

「イラスト:中村淳一」

“Illustration: Junichi Nakamura.”

The richly coloured mechanical illustration gives this design a distinctive presence within the game’s original Japanese promotional campaign.

Game background

Developed by Alfa System, this PSP title is an expanded adaptation of the 2003 PlayStation 2 game Neon Genesis Evangelion 2.

Described on the poster as a “world simulator,” the game combines character interaction, everyday activities and combat within the Evangelion setting. Players explore relationships and alternative situations involving the pilots and NERV personnel, allowing the story to develop beyond a straightforward recreation of the television series.

The PSP edition introduced additional scenarios and events, expanding the possibilities offered by the original game.

Its release also formed part of Evangelion’s tenth-anniversary period. The lower section advertises the “NEON GENESIS EVANGELION – DECADE – Memorial BOX,” combining the game with two UMD Video discs.

Poster design

Nakamura’s illustration fills the sheet with overlapping armour, angular silhouettes and intense colour.

Unit-01 dominates the foreground, its purple and burgundy armour highlighted with gold, orange and green. Glowing yellow eyes and an exposed, tooth-lined mouth give the figure an aggressive expression, while its long horn extends towards the top edge.

A long bladed weapon crosses the composition diagonally, held across Unit-01’s body. The layered shoulder armour and projecting mechanical forms create a strong sense of depth and weight.

Behind it, the enormous red-orange head of Unit-02 occupies the upper-left section, its four green eyes standing out against the warm armour. Blue Unit-00 appears in profile at lower right, completing the grouping.

The background shifts between violet, blue, crimson and orange, with a mottled, painterly texture that complements the polished highlights on the machines. Small NERV JAPAN and EVA markings add detail to the mechanical surfaces.

The large vertical slogan at left reads:

「エヴァンゲリオン、完全再誕。」

“Evangelion, completely reborn.”

At upper right, the campaign promises:

「ついにすべてが語られる、『エヴァンゲリオン2』の完全なる形。」

“At last, everything is revealed—the complete form of ‘Evangelion 2.’”

The Japanese game logo stretches across the lower centre in yellow-to-red lettering, with 「造られしセカイ -another cases-」 beneath it.

The prominent release announcement reads:

「4月27日発売!!」

“On sale 27 April!!”

Three small gameplay images at lower right emphasise the game’s combat sequences. The PlayStation and PSP logos appear in the upper corners, while Bandai, Bandai Namco Games and the Evangelion tenth-anniversary emblem occupy the lower promotional section.

Collecting significance

This poster brings together Junichi Nakamura’s mechanical illustration, Evangelion’s recognisable unit designs and the PSP era of Japanese gaming.

Its emphasis on the Evangelions gives it a particularly strong appeal for collectors interested in the series’ mechanical imagery. The release date, gameplay screenshots, original pricing and Memorial BOX announcement also preserve the specific retail campaign for the 2006 game.

It is an attractive example for collectors of Evangelion, Japanese mecha illustration, PlayStation promotional material and original video game advertising.
