"Onna Tobakushi Chōhan Tabi" (1967) – Original Japanese B2 Poster
女賭博師丁半旅 | Toei Studios | Starring Kyōko Enami | 大映映画
A powerful and visually bold B2-sized original Japanese poster for Onna Tobakushi Chōhan Tabi (女賭博師丁半旅), released in 1967 as part of Toei’s celebrated “Onna Tobakushi” (女賭博師 / Woman Gambler) film series. Once again starring the legendary Kyōko Enami, this installment sees her fearless gambler heroine caught in a dangerous game of dice and deception, fighting to clear her family’s name and uncover the truth behind a high-stakes betrayal.
The artwork is a standout of 1960s yakuza-era design — Enami stands front and center in a dark kimono adorned with an intricate green dragon, eyes locked in intense focus. Flanking her are tense supporting characters, blades drawn and loyalties unclear, while gambling scenes unfold in the background.
Directed by Yoshio Inoue, the film blends the grit of ninkyo eiga (chivalry yakuza films) with the intensity of female-led action, hallmarks of Toei’s genre-defining formula of the time.
A dynamic and dramatic piece for fans of Japanese gambler cinema, strong female leads, or collectors of vintage Toei artwork — this is classic Showa-era pulp at its finest.
