“Sailor Moon R: The Movie” (劇場版 美少女戦士セーラームーンR), Original First Release Japanese Movie Poster 1993, B1 Size (c. 71 × 103 cm)

This is an original Japanese B1 theatrical poster printed in 1993 for the first release of “Sailor Moon R: The Movie” (劇場版 美少女戦士セーラームーンR). The very large B1 format is much rarer than the standard B2 size and is highly collectible—especially for early Sailor Moon theatrical material. 

Sailor Moon R: The Movie premiered in Japan on December 5, 1993 and was the first feature-length theatrical film in the Sailor Moon franchise. It was directed by Kunihiko Ikuhara (幾原邦彦), written by Sukehiro Tomita (富田祐弘), and based on Naoko Takeuchi’s manga, with production credited to Toei Dōga/Toei Animation and partners. 

This striking “cosmic ensemble” artwork places Sailor Moon center stage with arms raised beneath a radiant, lotus-like emblem, flanked by the Sailor Guardians, while Tuxedo Mask and the film’s featured figure appear in dramatic profile behind them. The top tagline reads:
「だれよりも好きな人だから…私はあなたを絶対まもってみせる!」
(“Because you’re the person I love more than anyone… I’ll protect you, no matter what!”)
