“Stolen Kisses”, Original Japanese First-Release Movie Poster 1967, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA87

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1967 for the first Japanese release of François Truffaut’s Stolen Kisses (Baisers volés), the third film in the beloved Antoine Doinel cycle starring Jean-Pierre Léaud alongside Claude Jade and Delphine Seyrig. A cornerstone of the French New Wave, the film blends romantic comedy, melancholy, and youthful restlessness into one of Truffaut’s most charming and rewatchable works.

Design
A beautifully atmospheric Japan-market design built around Parisian night romance: the Eiffel Tower rises at left against a deep midnight sky, while the leads appear in elegant profile in the foreground—Claude Jade’s face lit softly as Léaud looks on, both suspended in that quintessential Truffaut mood of longing and uncertainty. The hand-brushed pink title 「夜霧の恋人たち」 floats across the sky like neon, paired with the French title BAISERS VOLÉS, while a tiny embracing couple at lower right anchors the image in intimate street-level detail. A superb example of late-’60s Japanese artwork for European cinema—poetic, graphic, and incredibly displayable.
