“The Fugitive” / 「逃亡者」, Original Japanese Movie Poster 1993, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) C260

Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed for the Japanese release of The Fugitive / 「逃亡者」, Andrew Davis’s acclaimed 1993 action thriller starring Harrison Ford and Tommy Lee Jones.

Adapted from the classic American television series, The Fugitive became one of the defining suspense films of the 1990s, combining a wrongful-conviction mystery with an exceptionally tense and fast-moving pursuit narrative.

Film background

Dr. Richard Kimble, a respected Chicago vascular surgeon, returns home to find his wife being attacked. Although he encounters the killer—a mysterious one-armed man—Kimble is wrongly convicted of the murder and sentenced to death.

While being transported to prison, a spectacular collision between the transport bus and a freight train allows him to escape. Now a fugitive, Kimble must evade a determined team of U.S. Marshals while conducting his own investigation into his wife’s murder.

Leading the pursuit is Deputy U.S. Marshal Samuel Gerard, an intelligent and relentless investigator who gradually begins to question whether Kimble is truly guilty.

Directed by Andrew Davis, the screenplay was written by Jeb Stuart and David Twohy. The film stars Harrison Ford, Tommy Lee Jones, Sela Ward, Joe Pantoliano, Andreas Katsulas, and Jeroen Krabbé.

The Fugitive was an enormous critical and commercial success, receiving seven Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture. Tommy Lee Jones won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his celebrated performance as Gerard.

Poster design

The poster uses a tense, action-driven composition dominated by Harrison Ford as Richard Kimble, shown running directly toward the viewer.

Kimble wears a casual green jacket over a white shirt, his anxious expression and forward movement immediately conveying urgency and danger. Beside him, the image dissolves into a dramatic field of high-speed motion blur, evoking a passing train or subway carriage and reinforcing the film’s relentless momentum.

A sharp black diagonal divides the photographic upper section from the typography below, giving the design a bold and distinctly early-1990s graphic structure.

The white text across the upper edge reads:

「逃げる。追う。愛と無実をかけた追跡が、いま始まる。」

“Fleeing. Pursuing. A chase for love and innocence begins now.”

Harrison Ford’s name appears prominently in white katakana:

「ハリソン・フォード」

The lower section is dominated by the Japanese title:

「逃亡者」

rendered in enormous solid white kanji characters. Beneath it appears the original English title:

“THE FUGITIVE”

in restrained grey block lettering.

The Japanese production credits and the Warner Bros. distribution emblem are arranged along the lower portion of the poster.

Very good to excellent condition. The poster retains strong colour, sharp photographic imagery, clear typography, and excellent overall display impact.
