"Zatoichi – Hatashijō" (座頭市果し状) × "Yami o Saku Ippatsu" (闇を裂く一発), Original Japanese Double-Bill Movie Poster 1968, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) ZA246
This is an original Japanese double-bill B2 poster pairing Shintarō Katsu’s blind swordsman epic Zatoichi – Hatashijō (座頭市果し状; dir. Kimiyoshi Yasuda, Daiei) with the contemporary crime actioner Yami o Saku Ippatsu (闇を裂く一発; dir. Tetsutarō Murano). Issued for a same-program booking by Daiei, these two-title B2s were printed in small numbers and are markedly scarcer than standard single-title sheets.
Design
Two worlds split down the middle: the right half erupts with snow-bound chanbara—Zatoichi poised mid-cut, bodies strewn across the white field—dominated by the huge crimson brush title 「座頭市果し状」. The left half switches to hard-edged, modern noir: a pistol-gripping lead against a gritty red ground with the cool blue title 「闇を裂く一発」 and a collage of detectives, gangsters, and nightclub intrigue. Studio crests sit at the top border; dense cast/credit blocks anchor the footer. A dynamic, era-true layout that makes this double feature sing.
