Discover the latest arrivals at Japan Poster Shop, featuring newly acquired original Japanese movie posters, rare vintage theatrical artwork and exceptional pieces of Japanese cinema history.
Based in Tokyo, Japan Poster Shop specialises exclusively in authentic original Japanese posters, carefully sourced through our extensive network of private collectors, specialist dealers, established collections and off-market acquisitions throughout Japan.
Our continually expanding inventory encompasses more than 15,000 original Japanese posters, spanning over a century of cinema, animation, graphic design and popular culture. From historically significant early theatrical releases and exceptionally rare vintage posters to celebrated Japanese animation, cult classics and contemporary cinema, our new arrivals reflect the remarkable diversity of Japanese film advertising.
Our collection includes original Japanese posters for Star Wars, James Bond, Godzilla, Studio Ghibli, Akira, and the works of legendary filmmakers such as Akira Kurosawa, Yasujirō Ozu, Hayao Miyazaki, Alfred Hitchcock and Stanley Kubrick, alongside rare international film campaigns and important works of Japanese graphic design.
Of particular significance are our acquisitions of rare first-release theatrical posters, original B1 and B2 formats, exceptionally scarce STB Tatekan posters, large-format billboards, advance promotional designs and unusual advertising material. Many examples are sourced privately and are seldom encountered on the international market.
Every poster is carefully authenticated, individually catalogued and accurately described, with detailed photographs documenting its condition. We do not sell reproductions. All posters are accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity, with worldwide DHL Express shipping available from our gallery in Tokyo.
Our inventory is updated regularly as new acquisitions become available. If a particular poster is sold out, please contact us, as we may have another example in our collection or be able to source one through our network in Japan.
