This is an original Japanese poster printed in early 1980`s for the promotion of Mobile Suit Gundam RX-78 vs MS-11S.
This dynamic Japanese poster features one of the most legendary mecha face-offs in anime history: the RX-78-2 Gundam versus MS-11S Zaku II Commander Type, piloted by the infamous Char Aznable.
Set against a cosmic backdrop with Earth looming in the distance, the bold illustration captures the raw intensity of battle in space—energy beams flying, explosions erupting, and mecha clashing in a classic duel of ideology and power. The bright red Zaku, wielding a heat hawk, looms large in the foreground, while Amuro Ray’s RX-78 counters with shield and beam saber, leading the Federation charge.
Printed in Japan and distributed by ANIMEC, this poster was never intended for wide public release and is believed to have been a store-exclusive promotional piece, most likely from the early 1980s boom following the original TV broadcast.
