This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1966 for the first release of For A Few Dollars More.
This is the original first release for the poster and it is extremely rare. It is one of the most iconic Japanese movie posters.
This is the first time we have had it in our gallery and we have never seen it for sale even in Japan. This poster was printed in far fewer numbers than the re-release in 1972. For perspective, we have seen over 30 re-release posters for sale over the past five years, we have not seen any of the original first release for over 7 years!
The bottom right hand corner (additional imagery provided), shows the poster is printed in year Showa 41 (1966) - the United Artists logo is also different from the 1972 re-release.
This poster is in an almost perfect condition and is an excellent investment for any Clint Eastwood collector or fan.
This was the second film in Sergio Leone's dollars trilogy. This striking Japanese poster features Clint Eastwood from behind. After A Fistful of Dollars and his world-wide fame, the Japanese distributors didn't even have to show Eastwood's face.
