A rare set of two lenticular posters for Stanley Kubrick’s groundbreaking sci-fi film 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968). Lenticular posters were virtually unheard of in the 1960s, making this set especially unique. MGM and Kubrick sought to create an innovative advertising campaign with distinctive formats, and these lenticular posters are among the most striking promotional items created for the film. This set represents one of the earliest uses of holographic display in advertising. Produced exclusively for cinemas equipped with Cinerama widescreen capabilities, this set of two posters is a limited and highly collectible piece, making it a must-have for any film enthusiast or collector.
Produced by TOPPAN printing company in Japan due to lower manufacturing costs and higher technical capabilities, only a very limited number of these posters were made.
These posters can also be purchased individually for $4,000 USD. Please send us an email - japanposteruk@gmail.com
