“Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That!” (ビースティ・ボーイズ 撮られっぱなし天国), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 2006, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O544

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 2006 for the first Japanese theatrical release of Awesome; I Fuckin’ Shot That! (ビースティ・ボーイズ 撮られっぱなし天国), the legendary Beastie Boys concert film directed by Adam Yauch under his Nathanial Hörnblowér pseudonym. For the movie, the band handed 50 fans Hi8 cameras at their 2004 Madison Square Garden show and told them to film whatever they wanted; Yauch then edited more than 100 hours of footage into a feature‑length “official bootleg” concert movie.

Film background
Shot entirely from the perspective of fans scattered throughout the arena—from the front row to the nosebleeds and even on bathroom and snack‑bar runs—the film captures the Beastie Boys’ To the 5 Boroughs‑era performance in all its messy, exhilarating glory. With a set list pulling from across their career and cameos from figures like Doug E. Fresh and Ben Stiller, the movie has been hailed as one of the most inventive concert films of the 21st century.

Poster design
The Japanese B2 leans hard into sci‑fi parody. Against a star‑filled cosmic backdrop, multiple cartoon camcorders zoom across the sky like starships, firing beams of light that converge on the stage. Front and centre, the three Beastie Boys strike exaggerated action poses, brandishing neon “light sabers” that both reference and spoof Star Wars iconography. The English title blares across the top in bold yellow capitals, with the Japanese tagline riffing underneath, while the Japanese title stretches across the middle in chunky, electric lettering. Festival‑style laurel wreaths along the bottom trumpet the film’s awards and cult acclaim, cementing this as a must‑have piece for Beastie Boys and music‑film collectors.
