Sale price $100.00

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1975 for the first theatrical release of Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze (ドク・サベージの大冒険), directed by Michael Anderson and produced by George Pal. Distributed in Japan by Warner Bros., this rare double-sided poster features full-color artwork on the front and a blue-and-white character profile layout on the reverse — highlighting Doc Savage and his legendary team. Japanese B2s for this title are scarce and highly collectible.

Film background
Based on the classic pulp novels by Lester Dent (writing as Kenneth Robeson), Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze follows Clark “Doc” Savage Jr., a physician, scientist, adventurer, and polymath hero who, alongside his team of five assistants, battles villains with a mix of brains, brawn, and 1930s flair. Though the 1975 adaptation met mixed reviews on release, the film has since developed a cult following as a nostalgic tribute to the pulp adventure era that heavily influenced later heroes like Indiana Jones and countless comic book characters.

Poster design
The Japanese first release poster is especially eye-catching for its board-game-style design on the front, with sequential stills and illustrations depicting Doc Savage’s adventures, action set pieces, and romance. The reverse side features a bold monochrome design with Ron Ely as Doc Savage at center, surrounded by profiles of his five key companions: Monk, Ham, Renny, Long Tom, and Johnny. This two-sided format makes it a unique collectible, showcasing both promotional and character-driven artwork.
