“Enter the Dragon” (燃えよドラゴン), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1973, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) O532
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1973 for the first Japanese theatrical release of Enter the Dragon (燃えよドラゴン), directed by Robert Clouse and distributed in Japan by Warner Bros. (ワーナー・ブラザース映画). Bruce Lee’s final completed film, the movie pairs Hong Kong studio Golden Harvest with Warner Bros. for a landmark martial‑arts thriller that helped ignite a worldwide kung fu boom and is now regarded as one of the genre’s defining classics.
Film background
The story follows Lee, a Shaolin‑trained martial artist recruited by a British intelligence agency to infiltrate the private island of crime lord Han, who runs a brutal underground fighting tournament as a front for drug trafficking. Motivated both by his mission and a personal desire to avenge his sister’s death at the hands of Han’s men, Lee enters the competition alongside American fighters Roper and Williams, uncovering the island’s secrets in a series of increasingly lethal confrontations. Combining espionage intrigue with inventive fight choreography, Enter the Dragon propelled Lee to global superstardom and has since been celebrated and preserved as a culturally significant film.
Poster design
This Japanese B2 showcases a dynamic painted montage derived from the film’s iconic international artwork. At the centre, a bare‑chested Bruce Lee dominates the composition, arms outstretched as he grips a pair of nunchaku, while multiple images of his hands and body radiate outward to suggest speed and impact. Behind and around him appear key characters from the film—John Saxon’s Roper, Jim Kelly’s Williams and Ahna Capri’s Tania—framed by crimson architectural motifs that evoke Han’s temple‑like island compound. Smaller vignettes along the bottom edge show tournament combat, surveillance equipment, police cars and Han’s ominous portrait, reinforcing the mix of espionage and martial‑arts spectacle. Vertical credit text on the left lists the principal cast, while on the right a bold Japanese tagline promises the “real” Bruce Lee and action that explodes across the entire film. The powerful red title 「燃えよドラゴン」 surges across the lower border, accompanied by the English logo Enter The Dragon and the Eirin censorship mark, completing a striking design that captures the film’s intensity.
