This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 2003 to promote the two-disc DVD release of Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (風の谷のナウシカ) in the “Ghibli ga Ippai Collection,” with the on-sale date boldly shown as 11.19.
Hayao Miyazaki’s 1984 masterpiece follows Princess Nausicaä as she strives to heal a war-scarred world and the toxic Sea of Decay. The film is regarded as a formative work that led directly to the creation of Studio Ghibli.
This retail point-of-sale poster features Miyazaki’s watercolor key art of Nausicaä in her valley armor, the large red Japanese title treatment, and product mock-ups of the DVD package. A lower banner advertises the Ghibli Special Campaign (第2弾) and notes the first-press limited bonus item.
