Japanese Poster Size Guide — B2, B1, STB, B0 & larger formats

This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1961 for John Sturges’s landmark western The Magnificent Seven. United Artists launched the film in Japan with its legendary ensemble: Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, James Coburn, Robert Vaughn, Horst Buchholz, and Brad Dexter, facing Eli Wallach as Calvera to Elmer Bernstein’s immortal theme.

Design
An iconic bright-yellow layout structured around a colossal “7”: at its apex a commanding portrait of Yul Brynner; within the numeral, vigorous vignette scenes of brawls, gunfights, and the village under siege. A delicate line-drawing cavalry frieze runs along the base, while a tender still of the lovers softens the right corner. The crisp red brush logotype 「荒野の七人」 and United Artists marks complete this quintessential first-issue design.
