“The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2” (悪魔のいけにえ2), Original Release Japanese Movie Poster 1986, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) L274 A
This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed in 1986 for the first Japanese theatrical release of The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (悪魔のいけにえ2), Tobe Hooper’s wild, darkly comic sequel to his 1974 horror landmark, released in Japan by Herald Film.
Film background
Set more than a decade after the original film, the sequel pits radio DJ Stretch and ex‑Texas Ranger Lefty Enright against Leatherface and his deranged cannibal clan, now operating from an underground lair beneath an abandoned theme park. Hooper and screenwriter L.M. Kit Carson steered the sequel towards splattery black comedy, with special make‑up maestro Tom Savini handling the gore effects. Over time the film has gained cult status for its outrageous tone and satirical take on Reagan‑era excess.
Poster design
The Japanese B2 goes all‑in on Leatherface. His stitched, diseased visage dominates the left half of the design in extreme close‑up, rendered in lurid detail with blood spatters and a glinting chainsaw blade intruding from below. On the right, a jagged vertical strip of stills showcases the film’s mayhem—chainsaw duels, screaming victims and neon‑lit carnage. The title 「悪魔のいけにえ2」 erupts across the top in thick, blood‑red brushwork, with a large orange “2” partially eaten away as if by the saw itself. Japanese copy along the side taunts, “Next, it’s your turn,” while a small English logo reading THE TEXAS CHAINSAW MASSACRE 2 and the Herald and 映倫 marks sit near the bottom, grounding this as an authentic Japanese theatrical horror piece.
