"Battle Royale II: Requiem", Original First-Release Japanese Movie Poster 2003, Rare, B1 Size (71 × 103 cm)

Sale price $150.00

This is an original Japanese theatrical-release poster printed in 2003 for director Kinji Fukasaku’s final film Battle Royale II: Requiem (completed by his son Kenta after Kinji’s death during production).

  • Scarce B1 format – At 71 × 103 cm, B1s were printed in far smaller numbers than the standard B2 advance. Few survive in any condition.

  • Striking design – A reflective foil monochrome class photo of the armed students dominates the sheet, over-printed with a blood-splattered BR laurel and the bilingual war cry:

    すべてのオトナに、宣戦布告。 / “This time it’s war.”
(Tagline roughly: “Declaration of war on all adults.”)

  • Cult-franchise pedigree – The sequel broadens the original’s dystopian concept into open warfare, cementing Battle Royale’s influence on later properties such as The Hunger Games.

Released on 5 July 2003, the picture reunites much of Class 3-B while introducing new faces (Tatsuya Fujiwara, Ai Maeda, Shugo Oshinari, Riki Takeuchi). Despite mixed domestic reception, it has grown in cult stature for its raw anti-war messaging and poignancy as Kinji Fukasaku’s swan song.

It is over 20 years old!

The poster is very good overall display condition. It has some handling wear consistent with original cinema use. We have taken this into consideration when pricing. Please see the attached images (front & back) – they show the exact item for sale.

It is not a reproduction or a reprint.
