This is an original Japanese B2 (51 x 73cm) poster for the first release of Belladonna of Sadness printed in 1973. This is only the second time we have had this poster in our gallery - it is in near mint condition. In Japan, the philosophy is to appreciate an item (poster) in it`s original condition rather than to restore and linen-back it! This poster is probably one of the most sought after Japanese posters.
The captivating visuals are skillfully crafted, with the incorporation of metallic silver proving especially intriguing. The artwork exudes strength, complementing the impactful nature of the film. Truly stunning.
We are very lucky to have come across this symbolic original, not a reproduction or a reprint.
