Sale price $115.00

This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1988 for the first Japanese release of Big (ビッグ), the beloved American fantasy comedy directed by Penny Marshall. The film stars Tom Hanks, with Elizabeth Perkins, Robert Loggia, John Heard, Jared Rushton, and David Moscow.

Film background
Released in 1988, Big became one of the defining American comedies of the late 1980s and helped establish Tom Hanks as a major leading actor. The story follows a young boy who magically wakes up in the body of an adult man, creating a sharp and charming contrast between childhood innocence and the adult world of work, romance, and responsibility. Hanks’ performance earned widespread acclaim and remains one of the key roles of his early career.

Poster design
A lively Japanese theatrical design built around a large central portrait of Tom Hanks, smiling directly at the viewer. Surrounding him is a collage of memorable scenes from the film, including apartment chaos, romantic moments, office comedy, skateboarding, and the famous floor-piano sequence with Robert Loggia.

The bold red Japanese title ビッグ dominates the lower centre of the poster. The vertical white copy beside Hanks reads 「突然、大人の世界。」“Suddenly, the world of adults.” Additional campaign text describes him as a man with “a shy heart and a big body”, carrying a very “big secret.” The green copy at right promotes the film as a major American comedy hit, while the lower section includes the original English big logo and a still from the celebrated piano scene.
