This is an original Japanese B2 poster printed for the first Japanese theatrical release of Mel Brooks’ Blazing Saddles, distributed by Warner Bros. in Japan on February 28, 1976 (U.S. film year 1974).
Film background
Brooks’ anarchic western spoof stars Cleavon Little and Gene Wilder and was a major ’70s comedy milestone, later earning multiple Academy Award nominations.
Poster design
The classic painted campaign art: a triumphant sheriff rides across a giant coin motif, hand raised in a peace sign, with the ornate MEL BROOKS’ BLAZING SADDLES title at center and the bold red Japanese logotype 「ブレージングサドル」 below. Studio marks and credits line the bottom border.
