This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1986 for Hayao Miyazaki’s Castle in the Sky (天空の城ラピュタ) — the landmark adventure-fantasy that became Studio Ghibli’s first feature film. With its blend of aviation romance, lost-civilisation myth and pure cinematic wonder, Laputa remains one of the most beloved and influential animated films of the 1980s, with Joe Hisaishi’s score and Miyazaki’s world-building now regarded as classics of the genre.
Authenticity
As with many popular Studio Ghibli titles, there are later shop posters and commercial reprints of this design. The example offered here is a true first-release theatrical B2.
