This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1973 for the Japanese re-release of Charade (シャレード), Stanley Donen’s endlessly stylish romantic thriller set in Paris.

Starring Audrey Hepburn and Cary Grant (with Walter Matthau, James Coburn, George Kennedy, and Ned Glass), Charade is often described as the perfect blend of romance, comedy, and suspense—a playful, twist-filled mystery where Hepburn’s character is pursued for money she didn’t know existed, while identities and motives shift at every turn.

One of the most iconic graphic designs ever used for Charade in Japan: Hepburn’s glamorous, scarf-framed close-up dominates the sheet as she lifts her sunglasses, set against hypnotic concentric rings that pull the eye toward a tiny Paris/Eiffel Tower vignette and a gunman figure in the centre. The title シャレード is rendered in bold hot pink across the bottom, with elegant upper copy reading ロマンス…スリル…サスペンス (“Romance… Thrill… Suspense”).
