This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster produced for the first Japanese release of Doraemon: Nobita and the Haunts of Evil in 1982. Featuring an alternative illustrated design with Doraemon wearing an explorer’s helmet alongside Peko, the poster promotes the third feature-length adventure in the Doraemon series. Directed by Hideo Nishimaki, the film opened in Japan on 13 March 1982, distributed by Toho.
Film background
Known in Japan as Nobita no Daimakyō, the film follows Doraemon, Nobita, Shizuka, Gian, and Suneo on an expedition into the African interior. Accompanied by a mysterious white dog named Peko, they discover a hidden canine civilisation and become involved in a struggle to protect its future.
With a screenplay by Fujiko F. Fujio, the adventure combines the series’ imaginative gadgets and humour with lost kingdoms, dangerous journeys, and tests of loyalty. The original voice cast includes Nobuyo Ōyama as Doraemon and Noriko Ohara as Nobita.
Poster design
A smiling Doraemon in a yellow explorer’s helmet fills the foreground, with Peko immediately below him. Their bright, friendly expressions contrast with the dramatic action unfolding behind them.
An enormous stone guardian stretches across the upper half, reaching towards the viewer beneath an orange and purple sky. Propeller-powered flying vessels hover nearby, while explosions and a sword fight involving Peko animate the left side. On the right, the familiar group flies above palm trees and monumental architecture using their Take-copters.
The Japanese promotional copy introduces the expedition with a comic predicament: Doraemon has forgotten his secret gadgets in Japan. Further lettering promises mystery and thrills, reinforcing the adventure theme.
The large ドラえもん logo sits towards the bottom above the red title banner のび太の大魔境. A yellow credit panel carries the original 藤子不二雄 story and screenplay credit, together with the Toho logo and 50th-anniversary emblem.

Measuring approximately 51 × 73 cm, B2 is a standard Japanese theatrical poster format. This composition uses its vertical proportions to layer the welcoming central characters against an expansive landscape of action and adventure.
