This is an original Japanese promotional (販促) B2 poster issued by Columbia Records in the 1980s to advertise a Yamato soundtrack release (catalogue number COCC-12233-5).

A striking minimalist composition: the Yamato battleship surges forward through deep space, its rocket exhaust blazing against a backdrop of galaxies and a crimson cosmic aurora. The layout is deliberately spare, allowing the ship’s iconic silhouette to dominate the field. In the lower corners, the Columbia Records logo and copyright © ボイジャーエンターテインメント are printed.

Cultural significance
Space Battleship Yamato (first broadcast in 1974, with multiple film adaptations from 1977 onward) is one of the cornerstones of Japanese anime culture, inspiring generations of creators and fans alike. Promotional posters like this one were printed in much smaller numbers than theatrical B2s and survive only rarely—making them highly sought after by both Yamato and vintage anime collectors.
