This is an original Japanese B2 theatrical poster printed in 1981 for the first Japanese release of For Your Eyes Only, the twelfth official James Bond film. Directed by John Glen in his Bond directorial debut, the film stars Roger Moore in his fifth appearance as James Bond, with Carole Bouquet, Topol, Lynn-Holly Johnson, Julian Glover, and Cassandra Harris.

Film background
Released in 1981, For Your Eyes Only marked a deliberate return to a more grounded espionage style after the larger science-fiction scale of Moonraker. The story follows Bond on an urgent mission to recover the ATAC system, a British military encryption device capable of ordering nuclear submarine strikes, after a spy ship sinks in the Ionian Sea.

The film combines Cold War intrigue with some of the strongest action sequences of the Roger Moore era, including the helicopter stunt opening, the high-speed ski chase in Cortina d’Ampezzo, underwater diving scenes, cliffside danger, and the appearance of the white Lotus Esprit Turbo.

Poster design
A striking Japanese theatrical design using one of the most famous campaign images in James Bond poster history. Roger Moore as 007 is framed dramatically between a woman’s legs, while a crossbow is held at the right and multiple action vignettes surround the central composition.

The legendary artwork concept was photographed by Morgan Kane and became one of the most recognisable — and controversial — marketing images of the Bond series. In some Western markets, the provocative image caused such a stir that newspapers reportedly airbrushed clothing over the legs when reproducing the advertisement. This Japanese poster preserves the unedited original composition, giving it particular collector appeal.

The blue vertical ribbon at upper right reads 「最新作・第12弾！」 — “Latest work — 12th instalment!” The massive red title across the lower section integrates the classic 007 gun logo with the katakana title ユア・アイズ・オンリー.

The central red Japanese copy reads:
