"Airport ’80: The Concorde" (エアポート'80), Original First-Release Japanese Movie Poster 1979, B2 Size (51 × 73 cm) N13
This is an original Japanese poster printed in 1979 for the theatrical release of The Concorde ... Airport ’79, the fourth and final entry in the blockbuster disaster series.
Directed by David Lowell Rich, Airport ’80 stars an ensemble cast including Alain Delon, Susan Blakely, Robert Wagner, Sylvia Kristel, George Kennedy, and Eddie Albert. The story follows a Concorde flight from Washington D.C. to Paris and Moscow as it becomes the target of sabotage—missiles, gunfire, and all—launched by a corrupt arms dealer desperate to silence a whistleblower aboard.
Part Cold War conspiracy, part mile-high melodrama, the film showcases spectacular model effects, Concorde flyovers, and a host of in-flight calamities that made the Airport series a worldwide phenomenon.
The Japanese B2 poster features dramatic painted artwork of the sleek white Concorde banking sharply over Washington D.C., narrowly evading a heat-seeking missile. A full cast lineup is presented in colour portraits across the bottom, with bold red type reading:
